Familes from Home Place of Texas and the Junior League of The Woodlands join US Synthetic at surprise event

HOUSTON, TX, December 14, 2017 – On Wednesday, December 12th, Junior League of The Woodlands president, Laura Bomer, received an unexpected email from US Synthetic, a manufacturing company based in Orem, Utah.  A group of US Synthetic engineers and executives had flown into Houston on business. When dinner schedules did not align for a planned holiday party due to unforeseen circumstances, US Synthetic decided to find a meaningful way to share its pre-paid holiday meal.

US Synthetic contacted the Junior League of The Woodlands asking for suggestions on who might enjoy a surprise holiday party.  After receiving the email, Bomer recommended Home Place of Texas (HPOT), a local non-profit organization located in Spring, Texas.  HPOT’s role is to focus on providing job training, socialization, and the development of independent life skills for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

A group of Home Place of Texas clients and their parents joined the Utah executives to enjoy a beautiful Christmas party at Bob’s Steak & Chop House in The Woodlands.  One HPOT client, Rebecca Stone, reported, “The men were so nice, the food was great, and we got to sing Christmas carols!”

“We had a great time with our new friends from the Home Place of Texas,” said Rob Galloway, president and CEO of US Synthetic.  “It was so nice to meet each of them and their families and enjoy a wonderful meal together.  We want to thank the Junior League of The Woodlands for helping us find a way to create a fun evening.  One of the core values of our company is to improve lives.  In many ways, we were the real recipients this year of a wonderful Christmas gift.”
